Wow! Today has been the craziest of all days. Not only is it 12/12/12, which will never happen again in my lifetime, but they posted the mentor picks for Pitch Wars and yours truly has been chosen by Shelley Watters!
OMG! OMG! *Jumping up and down*
The smile hasn't left my face since the announcement this morning at 8am. Which basically means my cheeks are hurting. But who cares, right? I was chosen, after all!
Now here's where the real work begins.
Shelley is going to offer editing suggestions, and, self-admittedly, she's a brutal editor. I can take it. (I think.) I've been talking to her a bit this week before the announcement and immediately liked her personality. She's easy to talk to, quite funny, and a great cheerleader. (Shelley waves her pom-poms through her computer!)
I love getting feedback and have high hopes that she'll help me polish my manuscript into the sparkling diamond that I know it is. Since I started writing three years ago, I've learned a lot, but that pales in comparison to what I figure I'll learn from my contest mentor. She loves my manuscript and has said so many good things about it already. But I know there are things that she could improve upon, and those are the things I want to learn.
Wish us luck in the agent round!
