Okay, so I did something rather scary on a whim.
I came across a contest called "Pitch Wars" on another writer's blog. I thought it looked like a lot of fun, so I entered the contest, which meant I had to query three mentors and hope like hell one of them picks me for their team. Well, I have good news and bad news...
The good news is that one of the mentors asked for a partial manuscript, which means that she must've had some interest in what I wrote. (I hope!)
The bad news is that now I'm sitting here chewing off my fingernails wanting to know what the hell her reaction to my first fifty pages was.
The waiting is always the worst part of it all for me. I'm not a patient person. No, really, I'm not. (See, look behind you. Everyone I know is nodding their heads and mouthing the words no shit.) Waiting, for me, is like watching a car rust. Booooring! And frustrating.
While I'm waiting (ugh!), I'm going to post on here (check) and stalk the Pitch Wars Mentors' Twitter accounts for fun. Maybe I'll learn something while doing so.
